PS3 fails at calendars

By Hans Wuerflein

In case you haven’t heard, or didn’t turn you non-slim Playstation 3 this weekend, the older models of the console went through a bit of a bad stretch.

Systems weren’t functioning properly, and it turns out that someone just needed to buy Sony a calendar.

The firmware of the older PS3s thought 2010 was a leap year, and when there was no February 29, they threw a bit of a fit.

Kind of reminds you of when a similar problem happened to Zunes a while back.

Anyway, they should be working again, but it begs the question: Why, after everyone freaked out over Y2K, then it turned out not to be an issue, would you go EXPLICITLY OUT OF YOUR WAY TO CREATE THAT PROBLEM?
