Modern Warfare 2 banned in Russia

By Hans Wuerflein

All console copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Russia have been recalled and a patch released for the PC version of the game that removes one level from the game altogether in response to scenes in the game that some see as portraying Russia in a negative light.  The level in question removed from the PC version is the now infamous “No Russian” mission that puts the player undercover with a terrorist group during an attack on a Russian airport.

A censored version is planned, but there is no release date yet.

Some Russian gamers are upset with the game, saying it is only from an American point of view and portrays them as terrorists.  If anyone can read Russian and would care to translate this for me I would really apreciate it, because this seems to be one of the main sources linked to elsewhere, but I’ve yet to see a good translation of it.
